My name is Jane. I am a professionally qualified, registered, BACP Counsellor, Supervisor and Psychotherapist. This means I have letters after my name, such as FdA and MBACP. What does this mean to you? Probably not a lot, but to reassure you that it means I have to prove to my professional governing body that I have done all the right courses and adhere to their guidelines. I’m sure you don’t need to hear me talking about how I can offer a safe space and that I’m non-judgemental - that goes without saying, so Im not going to mention it anymore.

I started my counselling path late in life, I was in my late 40s. I thought ...what am I doing? But I soon found out I liked studying Counselling ! I discovered that my life experiences have undoubtedly been a big part of my motivation to become a Counsellor. I felt as though I had lived my life feeling judged; not doing what’s ’right’ or not doing what I ‘should be doing’ by other people’s standards.

But a lot of that has changed now, and my Counselling journey has helped me to recognise my strengths...as well as my weaknesses, but, this is ok, we are all different. My life and work experience has come together to give me a real passion for working with people who may be struggling in life, for so many different reasons, and to work with them to find a way through, and move on to enjoy life! I am a really good listener at work and enjoy turning this off at home!

I enjoy the odd bit of running, horse riding when I can, I have  my own full time private practice and loving every minute of it.

Well, Im definitely different now, Im me and enjoying living life the way I want to.

My professional experience is extensive and includes addiction, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem and domestic abuse. I have worked for the Survivors Trust, where I counselled survivors of rape, sexual abuse and childhood sexual abuse. I have also worked in prisons, counselling individuals with substance misuse, depression, grief, relational problems and other mental health related issues.

ECOTHERAPY, WALK & TALK
Rather than providing clinical counselling, I find that some clients are more comfortable walking and talking when discussing their problems. With easy-to-walks in the park, I am happy to let the client set the pace of the walk and the conversation. Whether you want to have a relaxing stroll or set a quicker pace, I’m here to help.

ONLINE COUNSELLING

£60

A meeting together within a virtual room at home, communication can work well for both therapist and client. It can offer accessibility and flexibility, no need to travel and ideal for people on the go. Convenience, for people who find it difficult to leave their home or parents who look after young children. Therapy is more accessible and as effective as face-to-face.

FACE TO FACE COUNSELLING

£60

I offer a professional approach that is honest, empathic and non-judgemental. I am warm and patient and place a lot of value in people being given an opportunity to feel heard. Talking about your issues and concerns, being listened to in a counselling relationship offers a different way of looking at life and can bring about positive change, at any age.

WALK & TALK THERAPY

£65

I find some clients are more comfortable walking and talking and find it easier to start discussing their problems when walking. I am happy for my client to set the pace of the walk – if they want to stroll along and have a relaxing walk that is fine, but equally we can set a quicker pace if that’s what they feel comfortable with. The footpaths are
easy to walk through a local park.

INTRODUCTORY 20 MINUTE CALL

I invite you to arrange an introductory call either by phone or online. When you get in touch, I will be in touch to arrange a time for us to meet. I use this time to learn about you and the problem you are bringing to counselling or psychotherapy. I have found it saves a great deal of time when it comes to a first session and prevents a stream of questions at a time when perhaps nervousness can get in the way of you from thinking straight.

There is no obligation to start therapy with me, but if we do both feel that we would work well together and our diaries match up, we can arrange our first session together.

Jane is wonderful, an angel on earth. She has quite simply saved me.
I feel better when I've seen her and I look forward
to my sessions with her. Don't hesitate, don't be

scared about seeing her.
Self care!!

This woman who i felt instantly at a safe place with her.She is a huge part of my journey opened my eyes and mademe feel human as though she knew i had a shot at life.I could never thank her enough.
I just mainly wanted to say thank you so much for being so amazing at your job. Within a handful of sessions I went from feeling so overwhelmed with my situation to feeling completely free of it. I’m the happiest I’ve been in years, I am back to the care free person I told you about in our first session.
